Deep within the mesmerizing rolling hills, lived a boy named Shepherd. His existence was mostly unadulterated, simple, and honest. His primary duty was mainly to look after his flock of sheep.

Their low murmuring and the rustling of the gales among the lone tree on the hilltop were his constant co-dwellers. Day after day, guarding his charges instilled in him a feeling of tranquil contentment.

The boy chuckled at the puzzle on their faces. This trick continued for a couple of more days. However, one day, a real wolf did attack the herd. The shepherd boy raced for help, shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one came.

Frustrated and alone, the boy fought against the wolf but managed to protect only few of his sheep. Devastated, he returned to the town only to be met with a reprimand on honesty and the results of dishonesty.

The story of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the website value of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the dangers of false alarms. Moreover, it highlights how trust once broken, is difficult to regain. It's a story as pertinent today as it was in the past.
